Retail Pacific Map

Post by AlbertN »

Is it in the plans to ever add the option to play with the "tabletop" Pacific Map?

In my gaming experiences at the present it looks the unit density is quite thin in Pacific, especially in China.
Early in the war the Japanese has more units, and can maul the Chinese heavily for a bit of time - then the roles are reverted. Even if the Chinese can struggle to attack directly, as the Japanese diverts forces to other sectors, the Chinese simply start to infiltrate, encircle and destroy the Japanese land forces (which most oft due to naval requirements, are immobile or relatively mobile - against an opponent which moves every single impulse, as it takes Land, Land, Land, Land, etc.).

No this was rejected very early on for MWiF. Quite the opposite, there was a strong movement and support for a single scale world-wide.

Hmm. I am not against the full scale world as concept. I was actually quite happy with it to start with. Just pratical experience hammered me down, as the game has probably been balanced and tested for the other map, and not the current one in MWIF.
But one will have to make-do with what is there I fear.
