Well, thank gawd that's over. No more politics for a year. The money spent on the U.S. mid-term elections would have come close to repairing the infrastructure decay in this country. This place is a mess [:(]
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Not getting into politics, not the place here, but my night in Holland last night around 1300 hours 19 Sep 44 went well. The Best Bridge is in allied hands!

Maybe. But consider this: North Korea doesn't spend ANY money on politics. But the place is an even worse mess![:D]
And you could say that about virtually anything. "The money Americans spent on ..... could be used to fix the place". Candy...booze....tobacco.....horse racing.....junk food......electronics.....etc, etc, etc. I have no objection to people spending money on what they feel, as long as the contributions are legal, clear as to where they came from , and used correctly. Oliver Wendell Holmes said "Taxes are the price we pay for freedom". I disagree. The cost and annoyances of elections are. According to my machine , my phone rang 27 times yesterday. EVERY call was election related. That's annoying. BUT.......think of the alternative. [X(] [:(]
RE: THE THREAD!!!
True, but then we go into politics. I like it here, I would hate to get banned [:D]
My phone rang off the wall, too. TV buried with adds attacking someone, rather than stating a position. Tom, my mail man, said the load was heavier than Valentines or Mothers day. That's a lot of money. And big money is never spent on opinions. Someone is gonna want some scratch back. That is my biggest 'whine'.
In any event, let's see what happens next [;)]

Phone didn't ring once. But look where I live.[:)]
And now I enter my 56th winter. Snow 30 miles out, 1/4 mile visibility.

The 'new' Treasury building in D.C. has that quote carved into its front stonework. Which I always thought was a bit self-serving. "You-give us your money or else you won't be free." [:D]
My phone was ringing off the hook with pesky realtors trying to poach our just expired listing. It beats the alternative though-it could have been some political phone call! Thank God for caller ID and voicemail!

Tell them you'd be happy to consider them. Ask them for 1) an action plan 2) how much they are willing to cut their commission. 3) tell them you want to know how much they intend to spend on advertising and would they please put that in writing? 4) And are they willing to commit to a specific performance parameter set ( so many LEGITAMATE showings per week, etc).
Make 'em squirm. It's fun! [:D]
I used to walk pass that building every day when I worked on Pennsylvania ave. Prior to that I'd always admired Holmes. Not so much now. [:D]

Of course. We got the #$%^^$#$^&*( kicked out of us. But wait till next time. [8|]
What do you expect them to say? "I've booked my therapist for the next two years and I'm going home to get plastered? [&:]
That's what happens when you get too involved. [:(]
Instead people should say , "some you win, some you lose. But politics is the art of the possible". That's why we haven't had any revolutions since we've been a nation. You always know that you'll get another chance in 2,4 or 6 years and if you try harder , you'll win. That's the Democratic part of our Republic. I sometimes think our national anthem should be "Tomorrow" . [:D][:D]

My days are so busy right now with the new job that I need to escape to the hockey rink to get some internet time. [:D]
ETA: Wow, the new forum software settings are going to make Faber's REALLY hard to achieve!
