Any news on the 1.08 patch?

I need some time for that. Currently I'm overloaded with other issues and also my health is not at 100% right now.
I think the balance is pro-Axis in 41 and 42.

Thanks again for your extraordinary efforts, but what is of primacy now: is your health. Concern yourself with that solely.
I'm sure we can muddle our way through in the time being; more so if the astute among us post their observations and learnings.
All the best.

Thanks Morvael, this looks like the single greatest improvement since the game's release with too many changes to take in, in such short time. A quick run through shows credible levels of captured equipment, at last. Will it be incorporated illicitly in the units that capture it, as historically? Can't wait to see what happens.

Thank Denniss. I worked on the code, he worked on data.

Captured equipment will be used by units quite happily in case of shortages of own equipment. Please note that using captured equipment is blocked until October '41 and that some captured equipment will be converted to local (native) versions so you will see their pool & usage increase instead. But there is no guarantee which units will get - probably those needing them most at the moment, not those that captured.
I would like to point out that real refit must be performed out of the frontlines, otherwise units replenish in default replacement segment, not the prioritized one. On the other hand, unlike in earlier versions, they are able to switch to different equipment while on the frontlines. I also believe all encompassing 70/60% TOE limit for infantry units is now important to watch for and mitigate using rotation.

Yes - what I did was copy 1.07.15 into a new folder and installed 1.08 on the original.
How did you copy it ????
By a simple drag and drop ????

RE: Any news on the 1.08 patch?
That's a big step forward. Another one would be to represent "unofficial" use of captured equipment, particularly tanks and vehicles. Certainly in the Wehrmacht, this was more common than sending it to a central pool as the units were supposed to. That includes the use of large numbers of tanks/ACs by infantry formations which had no formal quota of such vehicles but pressed captured equipment into service sort of secretly, without reporting it, least high command ordered the vehicles centrally pooled for upgrades/conversions. One way to achieve such use might be to add a few empty vehicle slots to infantry divisions which can only be filled by equipment each division captures in combat, ie it's non-transferable.ORIGINAL: morvael

I understand what you mean, unfortunately this is not possible in this system. TOE is "god" for unit composition and it dictates all terms. Units slow down sending extra items from slots that do not match directly, especially if there are shortages of elements of the same type in other slots, but that's all that can be done concerning TOE mismatches. Eventually all units want to end up with all slots matched with TOE slots.

RE: Any news on the 1.08 patch?
Hi,
Thanks from my side to everyone who worked on this - it's highly appreciated! (And while I know that the proceeds do not go to the people, who worked on the patch I still wanted to point out that I bought both extensions yesterday due to the fact that the new patch is available)
One quick questions (and no pressure please, just a question [:)]): will there be an updated manual with the 1.08 changes (like the one we got with the previous patches)? I want to finally have a printed version of the manual but would like to have the most recent version. If there is one coming, I rather wait
Thanks!
Chuck

As the person creating the updated manuals (Apollo11) is currently occupied by real life duties we don't know the ETA of an updated manual (it wasn't updated since 1.07.11). The idea was to publish 1.08 beta without updated manual and to wait for the manual to be updated before it will go official (several months I guess). But we can't be 100% sure the manual will be really updated. It all depends on Apollo11's availability.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Sounds like it'll be best to print out the latest version and the change log now.

I'd just like to state again hats off to Morvael and the staff here at Matrix. Much thanks!!!!

Does the 1.08 patch help with playing the Road To ... scenarios? I thought I saw a comment somewhere indicating the patch could have a salubrious effect.
RE: Any news on the 1.08 patch?
A significant number of changes helps the attacking side. This means it's pro-Axis in '41.
RE: Any news on the 1.08 patch?
Anyone know if this game usually pops up on the Christmas sale? Would like to grab this and the expansions as a primer for the West front.

In years past they have been part of the Christmas sale except Lost Battles which wasn't out one year prior to the sale.
I believe the sale started around Thanksgiving last year.
2013 Holiday Sale
I was thinking it would be wise for Matrix staff to run a sale on these titles prior to the
Christmas sale as some peeps with limited funding might be spending their money on WITW.
Have a great weekend!.
