RA7.0 airplane question

I'm playing a PBEM using RA7.0(1123X9)as the Allies. Has anyone else noticed the P-400 Airacobra has a bunch of replacements sitting in the pools?

I did and went hunting through the airgroups to find a plane that the P-400 would be a decent upgrade to, and so far I cannot find one group that has the P-400 as an upgrade in the USAAF.

Now by asking this question only proves my ineptitude... but here's the groups I looked through anyway. And yes I did peruse the forums and did a search of the forum for P-400's.

I also know the P-400 is not a very good fighter vs. the Japanese, but I have many understrength airgroups that could benefit from an extra 100 planes.

Bahh, I forgot to add we are in May of 1942 and the pools looks like this...

Do you have PDU on. If you do, you should be able to upgrade several groups....GP

I sent you an e-mail with a detailed reply, but PDU is off.

So does anyone have any ideas? Can I sell em to the Chinese cheap? [:D]

There are a couple of squadrons that upgrade to it - forget offhand what they are but it's a couple in the SWPac & SoPac fighter groups probably flying P39's but upgrade to the P400 then back to P39N/P38/P47 after that - 8th, 35th or 347th FG would be the ones to look at

Thanks - I was a bit tardy in closing this out. GP and you both correctly pointed out the 31st and 35th FG do have a P-400 "upgrade"... My failure was thinking of the P-400 as the export version as it was IRL. Over 100 fighters in the pool in May of 1942 is an awesome thing for someone who has stymied my opponent's advance up through Burma and now needing to restock nearly every P-40 and Hurricane variant from the pools.

The 31st FG has not come into being yet in my game, but GP checked it and also mentioned a couple other FG's in his e-mail that "use" the P-400.
