Yet Another Supply Issue (?)

Post by jusi »

Hello,

How the Finnish units in the North can be in supply? Looks like a bug...

[edit: Mannerheim is in this hex so it helps a bit, but MWIF tells me that the supply path goes to Tampere through soviet ZOCs (of course!). It is not allowed according to RAC, isn't it?]

What other unit is Finish INF stacked with?

Emergency HQ-supply? There are definitely ZoCs so w/o Supply units or eHQs the Finns should be oos. This is the RU movement phase? Try undoing a move or picking up a unit and droping it back. That used to recalculate the supply (which I was ensured works flawlessly by now).

No emergency HQ-supply and yes, it is RU movement phase. I try to undo/redo the move but it does not change anything. I eventually continue the game and move the 2 finnish units. They were in supply before moving but become oos after their moves.

That's not good at all. I thought we got rid of these type of supply bugs. Apparently not. Question: did the weather change during the weather roll in this area?

The limiting factor should be ZoC here. Although it is tricky! There are a lot of lake hexsides which ZoC does *not* extend across. I am currently trying to figure out a valid path..

Lakes are frozen :D Which relaxes my earlier point.. so the Fins are boxed in and this is a bug.

If I remember well, the weather indeed has changed here during the last weather die roll. It was either rainy or fine and it becomes snow and so the lakes have frozen immediately [:D]. Also, the finnish units were not surrounded at that time: I just moved the soviet units in that purpose.

It seem the supply status was not updated for the Finns when you moved the second Russian INF to box them in. Not sure which one you moved last, but the last of them should have ZoC'ed out the hexes towards the rail line to the west.

I presume during RU movement supply is only updated for RU units or held back for units from the other side until you end the step. The next supply cue for the Finns come on overruns (not possible here) or land attacks. You could check out if they are oos then.

Hmmm... Not a satisfying answer. I hoped this one was related to a supply bug which was reported earlier which had to do with freezing of lakes, which than put a ZOC on a hex, which should cut supply. Not nice...

The last moved RU unit was the 3-3 one, south-west of the Finnish units. It is itself oos but it shouldn't matter.
