OT Flashpoint Campaigns

Post by RogerJNeilson »

Just have to say I got this last Friday, really don't have a clue what I am doing, but its incredibly 'seat of the pants' and very immersive with very clever game routines. Worth a look if you want something slightly different - they are likely to do the same game engine for WW2 at some point.

I have tons of other Matrix stuff, but this is the first one I've seen that comes close to AE for fun and immersion.

I started beta testing this game awhile ago, but stopped due to things beyond my control. It does seem to be a well put together game....GP

Looks good - maybe quite similar to the Command Ops series? (Battles for Greece / Battles from the Bulge)

Roger, thanks for mentioning this. I'd have not found it if you hadn't. I've loved the hypothetical WP vs NATO stuff since the Cold War was reality. And this is on sale!!

Looks like Steel Panthers. Is that a fair statement?

Far more sophisticated in data and depth, but similar scale.

The units have behaviours that are sensible and will execute their own activity unless you choose to set them specific things to do.

For the price its a real blast and I think will certainly deliver hours and hours of fun for me. Great for when you are waiting for AE turns to appear.

Have a look here for the flavour.... its now an update from that one.

I love the command cycle idea.

Roger -

Got it and love it. Well worth the money, especially as it is on sale. After playing AE, FPC PE is not hard to learn. Reading the rules helps... <grin>

Each side has a variable orders phase frequency, depending on current command and control status. Good design.
