Placing Rivers

Trying to place rivers on a map I'm working on but can't figure out how they work in the editor. I click on "rivers" in draw mode and then click on the map and nothing seems to happen on the map. Is there a trick I'm missing.

Rivers are placed along the edges of hexes. What you do is click on a hex, then the bordering hex that is supposed to get the river, and so on... if you at any point want to not place a river right click, instead of left click. I believe... its been some time since i editted a map.....

Thanks ernieschwitz! I finally figured it out with the help of one of the tutorials. Still learning the ropes of this game...
