So...What about the other astronaut?

Post by Nails67 »

I was doing the joint Mercury mission. I made it fine through the two launches and the joint rendezvous part. Then the first capsule re-entered, but then encountered a catastrophic problem on splashdown/recovery. The mission immediately ended as a catastrophic failure.

When I review the mission steps, it claims that all of the steps necessary to get the second capsule and astronaut down from orbit were not "not performed." What? So my other astronaut is still up there? We didn't even try to recover him? Obviously, he's not, since in the next season he's back at the astronaut complex and in his rest season.

Where's the logic?

Hello Nails,

Seems like I need to extend the mission scripts to handle that scenario. Do you have a savefile at hand so that I can reproduce the issue and test the solution?

I continued that game after that point, so I don't have a save at that point. Would the file still be helpful? I can send it later tonight when I have access to my laptop.

Hello Nails,

Yes, definitely [:)]. If you can find the file that would be great, as I haven't tackled this issue yet.
