Tutorials and Handbook very useful

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Tutorials and Handbook very useful

Post by mariandavid »

Well - playing now for about an hour (naturally on the Husky Tutorial Scenario) and must say the 'initial support' material is very good.
Without the five tutorial videos (especially the pair on the air) I would have been floundering.
Also having the handbook and one short enough to print is a genuine gift. Cannot seriously comment yet on game-play but initial impression is good.
Certainly more comfortable as a start than was either WitP or WitE.

Great to hear - that's exactly how we were hoping those would work. Glad to hear the learning curve is manageable and that you are enjoying the game. Thank you for letting us know.

Regards,

I have the same initial impression. I'd really advise new players to fire up the first tutorial video and fire up Operation Husky at the same time. That video, and those that follow, walk you through each step. The game guide is great, but the video is really what got me started.

Overall, this looks like a high-quality product! I'll post more impressions later; for now I have to go back to work (sigh).
