[SOLVED]Can't see ships/ buildings/ empire influence

I can't see ships, buildings, colonized planets or empire influence on the zoomed out galaxy screen. Can see ships if I zoom into system view.
I have the option to show empire influence toggled, I can see it on the map on the bottom right of the screen aswell as in the galaxy map screen (G key), yet I can't seem to be able to see it in the actual game, outside of the UI.
What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something?

No mods installed yet, this is a fresh steam install.

Just to specify: You are seeing no map elements? Like the triangle around military ships, etc? I was browsing shortcuts to see if there was a key toggling all off, but I did not manage to do that...

Just to specify, I am thinking of the red symbol (due to empire color) around all ships:

I can see that when I zoom into system view, like as close as your screenshot. But I can't see anything but an empty galaxy when I zoom out. I'd post a pic but it seems I'm not allowed to do so on a recently made forum acc.


Edit: go to imgur and add this at the end of the url."/F6uNzY6" as you can see I got a large influence on minimap, but nothing on galaxy screen.

Hello Tagelconar;

Go to Options, Advanced Settings, on that screen, uncheck the box in the lower
left corner "Clean Galaxy View". That hopefully solves your problem!

Actually there is that option when browsing options from main menu, which I hadn't done until right now, ingame options are lacking it.

That was confusing, options of main menu and ingame should be exactly the same I think.
