HOW to transfer between Mediterranean and UK?

I have done searches through the PDFs and I have even tried to use naval transport to transport a unit from UK to the Mediterranean by sending it to where the screen says "Ship to Med" but nothing happens and my unit stays at hex 51,169.

Can someone tell me just how to transfer back and forth?
PO2 US Navy (1980-1986);
USS Midway CV-41 (1981-1984)
Whidbey Island, WA (1984-1986)
Naval Reserve (1986-1992)

Have you played through the turn? Leave the unit in the same area and at the start of the next turn it will have moved to a NA port like Oran.
