V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
The v. 2.07 update that came out on the 4th of Dec. - NOT the hotfix - is impossible to download. It's in FTP. I managed once with great difficulty on my laptop with WIN 8.1, but on my PC with Win XP it just keeps getting stuck and after a long time gives an error message. Of course, the "check for updates" button on the game icon is inoperative. Furthermore in the "members" section, if I look for it under my games, registered games etc, the update does NOT appear.
Once upon a time, you guys were very user-friendly with updates.
So, please, just post the thing on your website in a sensible manner and try to avoid putting your customers through all this useless hassle. And stop using FTP.
I would be grateful for a quick answer.

I had the same problem, but figured it out: log into the Matrix members area, go to Flashpoint Players edition, then there is a downloads link up above. Not very easy to find... Here is a link, although I'm not sure it will work for you, since it is behind the log-in screen:
http://www.matrixgames.com/products/471/downloads/
Not sure why they can't simply have a stickied thread on the forum where we could go, or better yet, have the Update button in the game actually function (I downloaded the patch twice via the game interface only to get an error at the very end).

Buy from Steam, never ever worry about this sort of thing again.

RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
Ginetto, the link to the hot fix is on the forum main page here tm.asp?m=3748742.
Matrix should be getting the Update button working very soon. They were also getting War in the West out the door last week. I'll check with Erik and get an ETA. As for FTP that's what Matrix uses. We have no control on that. I can see about getting the 2.08 hot fix on our website when it is ready to help out as well.

RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
One thing I have noticed is that even though I had registered game as 'Flashpoint..' when it came out, I can no longer get Members only area as it has changed to 'Flashpoint...Player's Edition and requires me to register game. Which I can't as it says I have already used the serial number...Catch 22.

I didn't have to re-register...try it the way I suggested above.

Michael, if you still have a problem, go post in the Main Matrix Support forum about the problem. They should be able to help you out.

I don't know the reason, but for updates for the many Matrix games I own I have given up with using Internet Explorer (almost always hangs right at the end of a download).
I now use Google Chrome and have a 100% success rate.
Worth a try?

RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
Just to be clear, we have two kinds of updates:
1. Beta updates (These are posted in the Members Club as a preview release for registered owners)
2. Official updates (These are on our public FTP, in our public Downloads section and available through "Check for Updates" on the game menu. They are _not_ in the Members club)
This has been the case for years, nothing has changed in this regard as far as how we distribute our updates since at least 2004.
Regards,
- Erik

Where is the public downloads section? And the Check for Updates button usually doesn't seem to work for me on any of your games, although sometimes it does... So basically I have to hunt and peck around for every patch.

RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
My success with the game launcher update button has been 50/50 as well. I think my AV/firewall does not like it and I have limited success adding the updater to the exclusion list.

Jim, I don't need the hotfix. I'd like the normal 2.07 update that you brought out on Dec. 4. The 2.07 hotfix is from late November. The normal 2.07 update of Dec. 4 is on the MG homepage under 'downloads' and it doesn't download.

76mm,
I had already tried yesterday, before going on the forum, the link you mention, but got the same problem.
Can you be more specific about the members area? I was in there just now but saw no Flashpoint Players edition which you mention.
Thanks.
This mess comes from FTP, I'm positive.
Ginetto

I tried Chrome and Firefox, but to no avail.
With CMANO we had dozens of updates, patches etc with never any problems. Now with FCRS it's a disaster. An update should be something you do when you have 30 minutes free. NOT a major undertaking that makes you waste a whole morning. For nothing.

OK, skip the members area--go to the products page, navigate to Flashpoint, then click on the downloads link in upper middle of the screen...

OR - on the main Matrix Homepage the Download section tends to contain the latest two. It currently still shows the v2.07 Flashpoint update. I downloaded mine from that link via Google Chrome.

RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
My update worked fine. However one thing I can't find, maybe I'm just missing it, is a list of what was changed????
RE: V. 2.07 UPDATE OF dEC. 4, 2014
I finally made it by transfering the 2.07 zip file from my laptop, where I did succeed in downloading and installing it IN SPITE OF THE LOUSY WAY FTP WORKED, to my PC. Total time wasted during the 4 days of this, about 16 hours.
So, MG, fix this PLEASE. FTP IS NO GOOD.
Downloads should be no-brainers.

I just posted a link to the upcoming 2.08 What's New doc that is now a roll up of 2.04 to the new 2.08. That will cover all of the new features and tweaks along with the bug fixes we have done.
