Guadalcanal

Post by bo »

I just reloaded WITP, never really liked it, too much micro managing, but while waiting for MWIF to be finished I decided to give it another go, seems to play well but have a question about the Guadalcanal scenario, I have landed Japanese SNLF forces on Guadalcanal while playing head to head, [no fog of war] there are no allied forces on Guadalcanal but each new turn a lot of casualties seem to be hitting Japanese forces, is it the mosquitoes or spear throwing natives causing all of these casualties? [:(]

I have loaded all the so called fixes or is there something I am missing here.

Sounds like environmental losses. Malaria was a big player in the islands way before the Japanese got there.

OBTW, what's "MWIF"?

Environmental losses, that's a new one for me, but thanks anyway.

Hi,

Check if you have enough support squads at Guadalcanal. It won't remove the problem but it there will be less devices (squads, guns) disabled if you have enough or more than required.

The malaria and environmental effects only ocunts if it's a small base. Can't find the limit for base size but the bigger it is the less effect from malaria and fatigue.

What about supply? How much supply do the units taking these losses have?

Yes, all sides lost big to disease and starvation in New Guinea. Not sure these factors are in the game, though.

In Malaria zones it's best to be in a base that is in supply.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.
