What do you use Coastal Command for?

Post by Carterjon »

Coastal command has a lot of planes but never seems to get specific directives assigned. Is this where most of the auto naval patrols come from? Should one leave it alone for this purpose, or does it make sense to use it for ground attack, etc.

I use them for the auto naval patrols. I don't think I've ever assigned them an actual directive. I usually set most of them up on Sardinia and Corsica to cover the seas up and down the west coast of Italy, and to cover my bases on those islands. The fighter's will defend without an air directive.

I actually do give them directives as WA. I have them patrol sea lanes and make sure paths for my transports are safe. I also use them to patrol areas that are german controlled.
