no axis strategic air day?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

no axis strategic air day?

Post by jnpoint »

Have I turned something off?

When I play Allies I have an 'Automatic Air Directive Creation: Strategic Air day/night'. But as Axis I don't?

The Germans neither did, nor possessed tha ability to conduct aerial strategic warfare from 1943 to 1945.

Remember to look at the One Page Guide on Air Planning - Auto AD Creation depends on the Air HQ.  Some Air HQs like Luftflotte Reich are not effected by the Auto setup.  There is a table in the guide that shows exactly which Air HQs will be affected.   You can always set your own manually.

Yes, that is what I am afraid of - setting it up MANUALLY [:)]

After enough training (and lots of costly mistakes [:D]), you'll see that you can get better results by setting AD manually.

But I can tell you that you don't want to try strategic bombing with the Luftwaffe, neither auto or manual !

I can see that I still have to learn. I didn't know that the Germans couldn't do that.

"I didn't know that the Germans couldn't do that."

There is no automatic strategic air doctrine screen yet the Luftwaffe can bomb strategic targets, cities. Daylight could be very dangerous. I like night bombing of Ports, suspected depots, railyards, manpower.
