Crash During Port Strike

Post by Zorachus99 »

I'm playing with the public beta, and I somehow either had duplicated aircraft, or somehow moved my CV's out of port over-stacked.

The only way I found out was when I port struck some russian subs in the arctic, which were in a minor port, and the CVP's could not return to their carriers.

BTW when you port attack the russian subs in snow, the program crashes.

I decided to return them to port, but I don't know if it was carnage or what. I think I lost 1 CVP, but I'm quite unsure.

Any idea what happened?

No. I don't know how you were able to overstack your CV's. I can't do so. I'm curious what you did...

Here is the save with my duplicated airplanes (I think). If you change the weather to snow and port strike the russian subs, the game crashes, otherwise, I end up over-stacked, which destroys the CVP.

First, the game doesn't crash (but this can be due to the new patch I'm testing with).

I can only see that the CV's are overstacked, while in a sea area. If a planes flies from one of those CV's in a mission, it will be destroyed.

I only don't know what causes the CV's to be able to sail overstacked. I can't do so, whatever I'm trying to do. I can't put a plane down on a CV which is already filled to capacity (or doesn't have the capacity to land another plane on, because the two planes have more combined than the number on the CV).

Any chance you got a saved game from the start of the impulse you moved those CV's out to sea?

How they got aboard is one thing, but after that it is likely the same bug as the one that destroys CVPs that are disorganized. Can't fly = die.

I have many saves, but none with ships in port.

I had left the fleet with overstacked aircraft at sea for four months, hoping the issue would go away. I then moved the group back out to sea not noticing they were still overstacked but differently. So, I don't have a single save with my ships in port.

It might have something to do with reinforcing new CVP's onto CV's. The colors for the CVs were different between forms, and the dialogs seemed contrary to what I was seeing.

Returning the entire fleet to port seems to have temporarily fixed the problem, but by my count I think I did lose a CVP and a pilot.
