I really love this air system

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

It is well thought out. The way The Axis and Allied air blends into it's own and the other sides turns...... carrying out it's mission directives and reacting to the enemy's ...

... that's it..... its just too good....[:@]

I had some time to play with the air system more last night and I love it too. From some of the other posts some tweaking to flak may be in order and other areas may need to be tweaked, but overall its well though out.

A few things I am wondering about is is you set the hex radius to 1 or 2 for something like ground attack I'm presuming the ground units in those targeted hexes will be subjected to heavier and more concentrated ground attacks. Putting a 0 hex radius for the Strategic Command is carpet bombing I presume.

Yes, in case your priority of unit bombing is high enough. Setting too high interdict values will cause immediate unit damage as well.

Radius of 0 means that it will target one particular hex, so you don't leave target selection code to choose other target hex.

A bit confused here: I presume the first message refers to enemy damage, and the reply refers to friendly damage?

So far there is no friendly damage in WITW. What I meant that normally interdiction mission are not causing immediate damage to the units in the hex, unless you reach level 9 interdiction, which is triggering unit bombing routine to run at end of execution.

It should be well documented in manual.
