Air supply? How?

Post by ratprince »

So, I am trying to supply some cut off airborne troops. How?

I click on airdrop twice to get freight

Then I click on the unit

Then I select the air groups

Then I click on launch

It makes the sounds, etc.. but no freight is delivered and the air groups are constantly available and show no usage. What am I doing wrong?

This confused me for a while too, even after I read the section in the manual. I think you may be doing things in the wrong order.

1. Select F9, select again to get freight (as you're doing).
2. Click on staging base! This is the part I missed. It doesn't have to be the transports' home base.
3. Then right-click on target (or shift-right-click to manually choose which transports will fly).
4. Then click launch.

If you were 1. hitting F9 twice, then 2. clicking target unit, the game thinks you want to use the unit's hex as the staging base. If there's no airfield in the unit's hex, then your freight won't go anywhere. (And if there is an airfield, you may actually airlift supplies OUT?)

That's my best guess what's going on.
