WITW - Steam ?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Hello, will this game be aviable through Steam ?

I did my last Matrix purchase through Steam (Command: Naval Air...) and now I start to like it.

I'm a big fan of the switchover to Steam--- especially for games like WitW that will have a constant stream of patches and betas, the near instant Steam downloads are just too convenient--- compare the experience of getting the latest Command beta on Steam versus the often slow Matrix beta servers. Plus Matrix doesn't use Steam as a DRM, so one doesn't need to be logged in to Steam to actually play the games.

Hopefully WitW will get ported there soon.

No plans to bring WITW to Steam at this point. There's also no point holding off on a purchase though as if we do bring it to Steam in the future, all existing owners will get a free Steam key, just as we've done with other releases that go to Steam.

Our download system works fine FYI, the "check for updates" makes it pretty automatic for official updates. We like to err on the side of caution and not automatically launch programs or install updates without any action from the customer. I understand the convenience of fully automatic systems like Steam, but it's not for everyone.

Steam in nice but I bet the devs don't miss the "Why isn't this game 9.99?!!!" threads.

Hahahaha, man don't you know it. If they sold the Taj Mahal on Steam, there'd be someone asking "Why aren't they selling this for $100?"

Me too. But they are right, Steam users are constantly debating 'too high prices'!!

I've seen plenty of those discussions in these forums too. Initially I even participated in the complainers section, haha.
