Naval Movement Problem with Divisions & Corps

Post by Zorachus99 »

Hi,

I've mentioned I've had problems moving Italians during a combined Action.

In the attached save, the Italians have one naval move.

I want to move the German 5-4 Inf and the German SS 1-3 Division from La Spezia to the minor port of Bardia in Libya.

So I load up the 5-4 onto the transport, and the SS onto one of my SCS, but I cannot, then move both ships from port to port. If I move the SCS or the transport individually I can move into the hex, but not as a group of ships.

Can anyone figure out to accomplish this? Italy is at war, and should be able to move any number of ships port-to-port in a combined, as long as they travel as a group.

Thanks!

Whom is Italy at war with ?

If Italy is at war with at least one Major Power (France / CW / USSR / China / USA), then it is active, and should be able to move all ships in one fleet at once.

If Italy is at war with only Minor Powers (Greece), then it is NOT active, and every ship counts as 1 Naval Move (hence you could not move both units at once to Lybia)

Hope it helps,

Loaded the file. Italy is at war with CW and France, so no issue there. The problem is there are no 3-range Italian SCS in Spezia, so getting to Bardia with both units is un-doable. You can get them to move together to the East Med.

Where is the CA San Georgio? That's the one you need.

Holy cow, I was so used to the British, I forgot about the negligible range of Italian ships. Only the San Georgio and the Taranto move 3 range, both of which are damaged. Sneaky Brits.

Thanks for the answer. [&o]
