Receiving books in time for Xmas?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Receiving books in time for Xmas?

Post by Grim.Reaper »

I noticed on the product page says the books and physical media won't ship before December 17th. Is that just an estimate or the worst case? Trying to understand if the receipt of the material is likely before Xmas if using as a gift. Seems like it will be cutting things very close unless they ship earlier.

In the us....where is the distribution center in the us?

More of my question was how confident matrix is the books will be shipped no later than the 17th?

That will be the best case - we expect them to start shipping by the 17th, some will ship later. I wish it weren't that close to Christmas, but unfortunately it's the fastest we could get them back from the printer. As is, we're already incurring extra cost above what we normally would to air ship enough to our warehouses to make the 17th. Hence the warning on the product page. While we will do everything we can to get them to you before Christmas, given the tight timeline and the fact that shipping companies can get a bit unpredictable this time of year, there is no guarantee. If you are intending a physical copy as a gift for someone, I would hope for the best but have a gift certificate ready just in case.

I hope we have it before Christmas, mostly because I want to read the manual on print.

I ordered the game about four days after it released, and mine shipped last night.

Expected delivery is Thursday, which is kind of surprising since it shipped from Oregon, and I am in California, just one state away. Hopefully it will be delivered early!

Hi everyone,

I have an update for you on the physical copies.

Our US warehouse received the manuals on Friday and and began shipping immediately.

Our German warehouse received their books today and they should start shipping tomorrow.

So we are right on schedule and in the case of the US a few days ahead. Hopefully this means that, barring shipping company SNAFUs this time of year, you will all receive yours by Christmas.

Regards,

Eric

The ever efficient Germans have sent my copy already. Despatched at 03.30 today. Now up to Christmas post to see how long it takes to get across the Channel.
