Dude! That's a haul. I once drove from Miami back to Rochester, MN right after New Year's. Be safe!

If you drive through Murfreesboro TN at a decent hour and need a meal, let me know. I will meet you at Cracker Barrel and buy you a meal.

Lucky you didn't deal with a blizzard, like I usually do.

The first tried I tried this was a non-stop run to Lackland AFB with my younger son and friend to see my older son graduate basic. Oddly enough the difference between here to San Antonio and here to Orlando is like 10 miles.

The wife's with me, so I'm not doing it alone.

I actually enjoy the ride. Lots of scenery along the route, with Tennessee being the best. Probably the only bad part is going through a day of work before starting, though I'm bugging out early. It helps that I just bought the wife a Subaru Forester, which will make 32 mpg on the highway. Very comfortable ride, too.

The robot will most likely take me through there.

Unfortunately, I'm leaving here at 1630, so it'll probably be well after midnight when I hit there. Chattanooga's about the halfway point for me, I think.

Woulda been nice. Cracker Barrels are like McDonalds out that way. [:D]

I need to hook up with Schanilec when I out that ways again too.

Bon Voyage!

These last two days are the longest.

I am leaving early tomorrow, so I may get two turns out before I go.

OK, just keep that in mind when traveling through this area. Trying to meet as many Thread brothers as I can...

Also, CBs are a huge step up from McDonalds! [:)]

Yep...

They don't do well in my area for some reason.  There was one in Appleton, and it didn't last more than a year.

Thanks, Mike, but we did end up taking it to our local shop for the last 5% of the work. Some diagnostics, etc. Saved over $1000 by doing the bulk of the work ourselves. Actually, the amount spent was just about the same as the quote from the shop for them to do the entire replacement with a salvage engine that had 140k miles on it. This way, we have a brand new engine in it, along with a new distributor, cables, water pump, etc.

It sure sounded great starting up this morning as Alex left for his last day of pre-vacation school. [:)]

I've had a very productive work week, leaving very little to do today before vacation starts. I have a full pot of coffee, a sleeping puppy next to me, and a turn in my inbox. Life is good! [:D]
