Casualties

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Casualties

Post by Smirfy »

December 1943 and the serious fighting at Cassino is just about to begin so far as the Western Allies I have lost 87,000 men killed (???????????) Thats more than the whole campaign and there has been no hard fighting. I have surrounded and destroyed several Axis units but their dead is 19,000. Despite the actual heavy losses in the Italian campaign the Axis lost more men in the campaign than the Allies. Like I have said in other thread casualties are out of whack. Life expectancy in US and CW support units being very low and being given a PIAT or being put in a Bren Carrier or Truck is a death sentence, whilst the slackers hide in the Commando and Parachute units units. In fact British Rifle men though not part of the "Glory Boys" in support are tempted to desert and re-enlist in the US army in the same job as you have a one thousand to one less chance of dying (??????????)
