Situation from Game 15, not 11.

In another example of neutrality violations we have these belligerent Chinese units in Hong Kong which in Game 15
is not at war with Japan. The Chinese units should leave neutral territory, or be interned for the duration.

Do we all see it this way?

Couple of points here, 1) The UK is allied with China so if the UK has offended Japan by providing protection for Chinese units,
then declare war on the UK. The UK has created this situation by offering a alliance to China. 2) If you believe there is a parallel between Belgium and Hong Kong that would be a mistake. Hong Kong is British Sovereign territory, Belgium was not Soviet territory it was contested territory between the Germans and allies, and had changed hands several times. And the historical possibility of Belgium becoming Soviet territory would have been ZERO.

You stopped counting points at 1). :)

In any case, I agree. If housing enemy units in neutral territory is a problem to you, declare war or threaten to... maybe that is the exact purpose of said texts :)

Indeed very much what I had to do with the Belgium situation I contacted the Soviets, who gave assurances the assurances were kept so war was avoided. If Allied units had attacked Germany from Soviet territory then war was inevitable this did not happen problem solved its called diplomacy.

Belgium and Hong Kong never entered my mind. Two very different situations.

Belgium did not have any British units in it while Soviet. Hong Kong does have belligerent units in it.

The rules of neutrality made the Graf Spee leave harbor after a fixed short period of time. Are the Chinese units leaving soon?

The Graf Spee left after frantic diplomatic exchanges. The power to best answer the question regarding the Chinese units taking refuge in Hong Kong, would be the British. They are entitled to give protection to allied units, the question is what will you do about a power acting against your interest and what agreement if any can be reached to resolve the situation, with that power.

The rules of neutrality are pretty clear but those for non-belligerent allies probably do allow the hosting of belligerent allies.

The Graf Spee actually had a very short time and limited repairs before it had to leave.

Too bad for them!

Certainly if the United Kingdom was neutral as was Uruguay, then this would not be a issue the Chinese would not be able to move into a neutral state, unless they declared war first. The United Kingdom are a ally of China, a completely different scenario, the Chinese are on allied territory, granted a ally not at war with Japan but a ally never the less.

A new year.

This is a different war. Very mature force structures and war economies at play, and massive battles in the air
land sea battle space. The Allies took Berlin from the Russo-Germans which should hurt them and help us. The
Soviets are showing real strength in Turkey and Middle Asia. Japan is very strong, and the Americans have taken
heavy losses attempting to put a dent in the Eastern Empire's defenses.

Looking at things from another perspective we see the USA taking on a much larger role in all theaters. There are
plenty of GIs in Europe, and in the Pacific the USA is the dominant allied nation. Japan is not at war with Great
Britain yet, and the British focus on Europe may contribute to this state holding for a while. The Royal Navy has
a decent presence in the Far East, but the Army is not close to waging a war there.

The Soviets are somewhere behind the Germans in Europe, and are sending troops under German control into battle
there. In Turkey and Central Asia they are present in their own colors. The Soviets have plenty of planes and
tanks, and seem to have a deep and undamaged economy.

Italy has the ability to sting, and her economy is also undamaged.

The new year finds the conflict in full tilt, and the prospects for each side open.

The Germans have collapsed, my mistake was made by not directing early production into research to bridge the gap, rather than producing older aircraft and tanks and expecting them to hold against the more modern allied equipment. So my apologies to my allies, the Soviet Union and Japan. And well played to the allies. I will continue of course but victory is just not on the cards.

I'd say that's it, with the Germans done for there is not point in continuing the game. Actually I expected the English to formally trigger a VC by now.

The English were unstoppable in this game, the Soviets were a weak opponent. I spent many PP's just getting the Soviet army up to readiness, only to see them fail in nearly every combat. Numbers didn't help.

I do think that the tech tree for English tanks is too advanced in time. I shouldn't have seen Cromwells for certain in 1941 nor even Churchill IV's IMHO.

History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

The Germans and Soviets have chosen to withdraw deeper into the East. We advanced a bit, taking a few locations, and
are about to start a drive to the east. We expect resistance from the Soviets, and the Italians are very strong with
powerful air units. The Soviets are fighting the British toe to toe in Turkey and Middle Asia.

We did not take the horse units seriously as defenders, but they proved very resilient although they did not cause
losses to the attackers.

The Japanese are incredibly strong and the USA has certainly not found the key to defeating them. They are on the
attack at Taiwan, and a major operation at Iwo Jima. Multiple USN carriers were sunk, many destroyers, and a few
cruisers. The enemy hit us with everything in the book.

The USN came back with a counterattack and sank another 11 subs, which evens the score a bit. Air operations were not successful, with losses too high for the results gained. The Japanese are building up forces around Hong Kong, and even launched an attack on some non-belligerent British submarines. There were no losses in the attack.

Clearly the Japanese and Soviets are close friends. Great Britain does not want another enemy, but she has been bringing forces to the Pacific. This front is red hot.

As the last surviving Germans retreat to the East, the chance of turning to make a last stand seems unlikely if not suicidal, as the skies are thick with Allied planes French British and now US, and the ground rumbles and groans under the weight of allied armor. The only place of safety lies in the east, And that is where the battered lines of Germans are moving East.

The Soviets are beginning to show their faces in Europe, and we had enough of them already in Turkey
and central Asia.

The Japanese are just freaking powerful, but the USA did take Hainan, at a nasty cost.

Here are the lines in the British part of the war.

The Western Allies made some gains in Europe, but that is our only success.

We cannot figure out how to challenge Japan which remains very strong. They have a ton of everything.

In mentioning the Japanese we may have failed to get across how very strong the Italians are. Lot of
tanks, and lots and lots of aircraft. The war has been going on for a long time and the less active
campaigners have had time to become formidable

The Italians attempted to reduce the build up allied air power on the Italian border. Some 52 G.55 were lost only inflicting 42 losses on the British Spitfires.

My accidental attack on British subs was due to my inability to see colors correctly...I thought they were USN...I also have difficulty reading things so the print on the subs were also too SMALL.

And I would not have lost those subs if I had left them out of the attacks on Iwo Jima...they accomplished nothing there so it was a waste. In the meantime I am producing air planes as fast as I can in hopes that that will allow me to fend off the USN. And making bombing very expensive. I have a weak surface fleet but I do have more than 9 carriers with full loads of planes. ONE torpedo plane has the same anti-ship rating as a Battleship and is MUCH cheaper to produce.

Please report any imprecise unit combat stats to Bombur. He will either tell you if they are incorrect, and fix them, or say that he believes they are accurate.
