What does Hard Attack value represent?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

What does Hard Attack value represent?

Post by MTTODD »

Hi,

What does the hard attack value represent? I assumed it represented the value of the main gun.

But know I'am not sure, because when I compare for example the STUG IIIF with PZ IVG which both have
the same gun, they don't have the same values.

Also when I look at the individual gun unit value, say of a Russian 76mm its HA value is 43, which is not the same as the T34 HA value
which uses that gun.

Have tried to find tho information in the manual, but to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

I am confused!

Presumably Stug would have less HA because it is a turretless SP gun and thus less capable on the offensive as opposed to a PzIV.

A gun would always have less HA value than an AFV with similar size weapon because of the superior movement capability of a vehicle. Hard Defense value of a gun on the other hand is much higher representing it's increased capability when used defensively.
Wargame is the m*********ing answer!
