Wow, what a manual (physical)

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Wow, what a manual (physical)

Post by tiger111 »

Just received my manual fron Germany ( I`m in UK)

It`s the biggest manual I`ve seen for at least a decade. It is also Hardcover and 300 pages.

Dimensios 24x19x2.5cm.

Whoever thought of this as a way to go with a manual should congratulated along with the author.

Thanks Guys.

Warspite 1 - you are not alone if that is of any comfort. Here in Denmark it will also be a Christmas a little less exiting as it could have been [:)] But I will just eat some more food in stead and try to forget...

Mine also arrived today - wow... yes, I didn't realise it was going to be so big. In fact, it's a book!

I am very pleased with it. It's the best looking manual I've ever had and that says something since we're probably 20 years past the heyday of manuals when Microprose and the like used to produce wonderful manuals.

I don't know how Matrix did it for so little on the price of the download version but I am very glad I spent a little extra. This adds serious appeal, for me, to buy these games. They take them from the realms of another download to a classic, enduring - work of art, almost.

I'm getting a little sentimental - must go and read! :)

The last time I had a book so substantial, heavy, and well made, I was taking Accounting 400!!!

And it wasn't near as fun reading that as this book!

I must say I also am enjoying the book. I should've read the manual more during playtesting, but there's just something about the book that makes it easier to read. I am learning a lot of little things I missed earlier.

I'm in the UK and I received mine this morning. I'm so pleased it came before Christamas proper. It's spectacular! [:)]

I thought they had forgotten to include the game disk at first until I saw on the back of the book that it was inside.

Excellent. I'm so glad I decided to plump for the physical copy as opposed to just the digital download.

That's my reading over the Christmas period sorted out. [8D]

Mine came this morning too, slightly damaged in one corner sadly, which is strange as it was packed well....

Have to say - this is a beautiful tome and exactly the same size as the MWIF books too!

Great job Matrix. [:)]

Sadly, mine just arrived today slightly damaged in the bottom right corner (looking at the front) as well. Matrix should check into that as it seems like a systemic issue.
