How to setup a Naval CAP

Post by Marder »

Hiho, i want to order some Fighters to circle over my Naval Group.
I want the fleet to go to a specific waypoint and the fighters stay over it.

I am assuming you know how to setup a mission with these instructions. After you set up your CAP mission over the fleet, select all those Reference Points and go up to the Missions + Ref. Points Tab........Go down to 'Make Selected Ref Points relative (rotating bearing) too...' and then click on the Naval Group you have already made. This way your CAP will follow along with the group and turn it's orientation if the fleet turns. If you dont want the RPs to turn when the fleet does, use fixed bearing. Hope this helps.

ahh many thanks. Missed the option with the moving refpoints.
I thought i have seen this in a scenario before where an helo made an ASW patrol around its naval "base".

Was planning to post that link but you beat me to it Casinn :)

Yeah there's no audio in it but I think it shows fairly clearly what the Relative RP functionality can do and what the difference is between fixed and rotating bearing.
