Barbarossa

Would anyone like to try the Barbarossa scenario via NetPlay with the latest public beta version? I will be around tonight. You can contact me here via PM or catch me on Steam at Pax25.

I'd be interested. What rules? Here's what I was using for my own recent version of this.

EDIT: appears I can't embed images, using most of the advacned rules but 1D10+Blitz

I've been using what Matrix calls the "Standard Rules". I'm not at all familiar with the 1D10.

Unfortunately, netplay seems to be hosed for me, I get Error 8 trying to log in. I'd still be up for playing via hotseat and teamviewer though.

Did you register with Slitherine? I was unable to get netplay working until I did this.

I did, it shows up under helpdesk with the serial number. Matrix ticket filed, and they said it appears to be a MWiF bug. I can still play via email or teamviewer though.

The game has to use the same password and login name for netplay as the one you are using in the forums.

If you go in windows into the World in Flames folder, you can open the file Netplayreg.

This file consists of 4 lines.

Forumname
Password
Emailadress
Location

These four should be the same as the ones you are using in the forums. If not, you can change this file into the correct ones using notepad.

Next: check the file:

Netplayregistration. This should contain the registration number of the game.

If both are correct, than I'm at a loss why this is going wrong.

The ones in the file need to be the same as the ones you registered the game with, not necessarily the ones you use on the forum. I know because mine are different and all is functional.

I'm looking at the problem with wireshark right now, I think it might be WiF is choking on a response its getting from the server, but not sure as of yet.

EDIT: Was able to fix it by manually creating an opponent request on matrix's website, which fixed the interface, I can now see games and such

Still looking for someone to play the Barbarossa scenario via NetPlay with Standard Rules (preferred). PM me here or find me on Steam at Pax25.

I guess it's not as easy to hook up as you would think it should be.
