German manpower crunch

Post by vinnie71 »

Well the German manpower crunch just hits around November '43. So, I'm looking at ways of stretching my manpower and I've noticed Goering's 40000 strong HQ. Has anyone actually tried disbanding it? I've removed some HQ's (like the occupation forces HQ's) and they were a shot in the arm, but there is little else to remove (only mulling the removal of OB West).

So anyone tried any other approach?

Don't you have around 130-140k reserve manpower by then?

Anyway, from my experience:
Disband Infantry SU Battalions - 5000 men each that can then go back to your infantry divisions. You get quite a lot of these as scheduled arrivals.
Reduce MAX TOE of Infantry Divisions from 100 to 95 or 90. This will hit your CV but can help out even the manpower.
Lower MAX TOE in airfields - same as above. Will create problems supplying all your planes, but they will be worth less and less as the allies get stronger in the air.
