[MICROMANAGEMENT PARADISE ADDED IN v1.07] problem with strike missions

Post by sabot105mm »

when giving a flight of aircraft a strike mission with many targets listed the whole flight will drop all their ordnance on one target. one aircraft with 4 harms will dump everything on one radar. 2 tornadoes with jp223 will drop on only one target. 6 f16s withe 6 mark82s will drop on only 1 target. each of the missions have multiple targets btw. can this be fixed?

You're essentially asking for the AAW/CAS-centric allocation logic of "spreading the fire amongst targets".

The problem is that once you go down that road, you end up with e.g. one missile allocated per enemy ship/facility instead of a concentrated blow. So your weapons end up being intercepted, decoyed or simply not doing enough damage.

If you have multiple targets and want to ensure all of them get equal share of the firepower at your disposal, it may be better to break down your super-strike into multiple strike missions and finetune the assets & weaponry assigned to each.

all of these targets are at one location an airbase so it is a concentrated area. also the 6 f16s with 6 mark82 each were sent in only after the sams were dealt with i highly doubt they could be shot down or spoofed , again a radar shouldnt need 4 harms to be destroyed

"concentrated blow" != "concentrated area"

Famous last words of a strike leader.
, again a radar shouldnt need 4 harms to be destroyed
The NATO pilots who launched thousands of HARMs during Allied Force might beg to differ.

Take a look at this: http://www.warfaresims.com/?p=3598

Coming in v1.07.

So you'll be able to micromanage weapon allocation behaviors to your heart's content. (And then blame us for it again)

Wow!!!! That looks really exciting.

I have never seen any Dev's who are more receptive or responsive to improving what is already a great game. Thank you so much!

This brings tears of joy to my eyes. Thanks, D!
