Sardinia and Corsica switch side?

Post by MrFreeze »

Hi,
not sure to understand what just happened in my game. It's turn 7, playing Allied in the Italy campaign, controlling Sicily, was focusing on southern Italy for the next invasion when at the beginning of my turn I now control both Sardinia and Corsica. My AFHQ controls Italian Units and they are all withdrawing...

Is there any message informing the surrender of Italy? At least I didn't see one. It was a bit of a surprise when I suddenly checked Sardinia and Corsica and saw some units there.

It should appear in the events log - there is a tick box there for 'Surrender' from memory

The only thing I saw in the event log was that a bunch of depots was captured.

For major events like this one we should be notified by at least a pop up. Event log is not clear about that, I can see the Italian units withdrew but the surrender box is only showing a depot.

Yep, also had this happen in my "Battleground Italy" game vs. the AI.

As far as I can tell, there was no notification about this at all - it would be nice to have in game.
Of course, after reading the applicable rule in the manual, it became quite clear what happened.

An event pop-up would be great.

It could also be used to bring historical flavor in other occasions : fall of a VP location could give an indication of the historical date, etc... (Paradox fanboy here)

Yep same for me. I checked right away in Event Log when they surrendered. Nothing in the Log
