Post by Viktor_Kormel_slith »

I don´t think that is this a bug but I´m not sure so this is my question, why Guderian can´t reoganize the FW 190 dora in the picture? sometime I don´t understand the reorganization range, could someone explain it me please?

The fighter is within range of the HQ but the enemy ZOC prevents it from being available for reorganization

RAC. 11.18.2 HQ reorganization
An organized HQ can reorganize units within range of the HQ. The HQ's reorganization range is equal to its
reorganization value in motorized movement points. The path from the HQ to the unit to be reorganized is traced
exactly like a basic supply path, except its maximum length is determined by the HQ's reorganization range, and it
may not be traced overseas. You may always trace 1 hex if the unit tracing supply is not prohibited from entering
that hex. Lack of supply does not stop an HQ from reorganizing units, or a unit from being reorganized.
[Clarification by S. Hokanson. The reorganization path is traced from the HQ to the unit - which is the reverse of
tracing a unit’s supply. This means that a disorganized unit which is not stacked with a land unit but is in the zone of
control of an enemy unit, cannot be reorganized.
That’s because the enemy ZOC prevents the path from entering the
disorganized unit’s hex. However, an HQ simply ignores enemy ZOCs when reorganizing units in a hex adjacent to
the HQ - September 25, 2010.]

Thanks Orm, then my loving Dora is legally overrunned [:(] but if this ok look at he next two pictures.

a) In the first, ju 52 is 5 motored points away from Guderian notwithstanding he can reorganize it, why?

b) in the second picture Von bock is 4 motored points away from Von Bock, why not?

c) do the weather effects modify reorganization range?

Oy my God! I had played for a year this game and maybe 20 years the board game and I keep not understanding some things. [&:]

Look at the exact text of RAW:

A face-up HQ can reorganise units within range of the HQ. The HQ's
reorganisation range is equal to its reorganisation value in motorized
movement points.

Notice the bold marked word.

Guderian is 5 hexes away. His reorganisation range is 4 (the reorganisation value) which is calculated in motorized movement points. So he can't reach. Same with von Bock. He can only reach units three motorized movement points away. The wood hex counts as two movement points, not one. So it is 1,2,3,5 for Guderian and 1,2,4 for von Bock...

And yes, the weather influences this, to the point where an HQ can (almost) always reorganise a unit which is adjacent or stacked with the HQ:

RAW:

You may always trace 1 hex if the unit tracing supply
is not prohibited from entering that hex.

In RAW7 & RAC you trace to the unit from the HQ for re-org - the opposite direction you trace supply.

a) But he can re-org the Ju-52 - so they must be playing with the Railroad movement option.

b) That one is 4 motorized MPs away (two for the woods) and von Bock's range is 3.

c) Yes in bad weather each clear hex costs 2, (minus 1 if RR movement option in play and along a RR) etc.

Thanks Paul and Centuur, I understand now, the key is the rail movement I forgot it notwithstanding, bbout weather, the rule says traced like a basic supply path not says nothing about weather and it´s a little confused. I suppose MWIF works like you say.

Weather affects it because you count in motorized movement points not in hexes.
