4th Naval Garrison Disappears

Post by Philwd »

I was moving the 4th Naval garrison from Truk(its the big one) to Rabaul along with a HQ and pioneer unit. Everything went ok until the units started unloading. The HQ and pioneer unload ok. The 4th Naval is never heard from again. Nothing at Rabaul. No fragments left on board even the first turn they started unloading. The next turn still hasn't shown up. It doesn't show at all in the listing of ground units nor does it show in the reinforcements.

Is this a known bug? Not to move that unit perhaps?

I have my saves.

Thanks,
Quark

saves sent

Post by Philwd »

Hi U2,
I just sent you 3 saves. The turn before unloading with the 4th naval still there, the first turn of unloading with unit missing and the present turn with unit still gone.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

U2 and/or Quark, let me know if you need the US turns by date. I have them saved. Good luck!

I've seen a similar situation where units disappeared completely while unloading, then reappeared 10 turns or so later at an allied base of all places. I posted on it at the time, several weeks ago. Haven't seen the problem recur since, nor was there any response to the postings.

bilbow,
Well if my unit appeared in PM in a couple of turns that would be ok with me:D .
Seriously on the surface it does sound like the same problem. Thanks for the reply. We'll have to see if U2 can confirm the unit is missing.

Hi Condor

Please send me your password to my email adress. I can look at his turns but I need to reproduce it also which means I have to get through the USN turns right up to where it has unloaded, thus the need for your password. Thanks and it will be safe with me:)

Thanks very much Condor

I have looked at the files and I must have IJN turn 22 to reproduce it. Now I have a TF unloading at Rabaul without the 4th with it.....which does not give me the ability to make it happen again (save 23). I need to have the save when it's one turn from Rabaul....load it/end and see if the same thing happens.

Hoping you guys have it

Cheers

U2.... I have the IJN turn saved :)

(that's the good news)

The bad news is I can't send them until I get home later this evening, as I'm at school watching my students sweat over the inconsistencies of Boolean algebra even as I type this response.

<they think I'm entering grades :p >

I'll check again tonight when I get home... if you haven't posted that you've got the turn 22 from Quark, I'll e-mail you mine :)

Thanks again for the help.

No (is it fixed yet??) problem (is it fixed yet??). After (is it fixed yet??) all (is it fixed yet??) it's (is it fixed yet??) not (is it fixed yet??) like (is it fixed yet??) we're (is it fixed yet??) addicted (is it fixed yet??) to (is it fixed yet??) the (is it fixed yet??) game (is it fixed yet??) or (is it fixed yet??) anything. (is it fixed yet??)

btw......

any idea on how long it'll take you to get it fixed? (j/k :D)

:D

Well I'm not the one to fix it. I collect saves, check them and write reports to the team. Once the saves is send by me it is out of my hands. Patience Condor, patience. I'd say play on....there won't be a patch for a single issue like tomorrow you know.

Again thanks to the both of you. Now to Oleg's problem before the urge to sleep takes over:)

At least it's good to know there WILL be another patch.

Now if we can just stop that annoying 'ship jumping around' problem when trying to select ships on a list for a TF......

No patch tomorrow?:(

U2 thanks for the hard work. I really appreciate it. Just another reason why customer service at Matrix is tops.

In your investigations did you find a condition under which that the unit didn't disappear?

Cheers,
Phil
