Update?

Post by Lypheus »

Hey guys, just wondering that the status of the new version of ToS is? Are we on schedule? Any sneak peaks at the new game :) ?

Thanks for the hard work, I have about 3 others ready to all buy a copy and support the cause!

I know WS is pretty close to done, but I'll let Larkin give more of a concrete time, if he has one.
There were some screenshots posted a while back.

BTW: Never seen your name here before - are you new, or a returning player with a different name? Just curious, really, since you seem to be familiar with the game. :)
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

The end of the month? That's awesome. I know Larkin said soon, but I wasn't expecting it that soon. :D

Actually I have been following ToS for some time and play it a good deal, I used to play BattleFort/BattleForce/MechForce from RR on the amiga a great deal.

The ToS people might recall that a buddy and I wrote a small snipet of code that was a menuing system to bring the factory, arena and hq together on one screen (Travis submitted the one that was used for a bit).

Its a funny story, but I was writing another RR take off myself called PseudoWars that was intended to be a persistent online mech-arena game, when I saw ToS I just pitched it and played ToS since thats what I really wanted.

At this point I've been prototyping a full 3D style mech arena/combat game which is similiar to a ToS meets MW, MW style 3d terrains and such with ToS/BF style gameplay (i.e. MechCommander not done as an arcade game).

Anyhow, I am anxious to see the next incarnation of ToS so I can blow my spare time on enjoying the fruits of their efforts ;)

Great game guys, we'll be a' orderin!!!
