Terrible Tercios

I've been trying to develop my tactics for fighting early Tercios with later formations. They seem unbelievably tough sometimes (and probably should be). Here's my thinking so far:

1. Avoid melee with Tercios that are Steady whenever possible.
2. Fall back when necessary and give fire with everything you can bring to bear.
3. Don't commit multiple Later Tercios against the same target as it seems not to improve success in melee.
4. If you have cavalry to spare, hit them when in melee with other units. The cavalry will usually break off, but tends to remain intact and inflicts a few losses.
