Time to talk UPDATE. Juan just sent me his revised changes to the Allied off-map aircraft purchase system. I'll start work on the Mods and get them straight. Figure Sat or Sun release.

Treaty Mod (045) 2.0

Post by John 3rd »

Had some time this morning and got the easiest of the three Mods updated. Treaty Mod (045) is now version 2.0. It is Posted on the website.

I hope to get to RA tonight and then tackle BTS tomorrow.

Change Log: Treaty 2.0
1. CV Princeton II is now South Mountain.
2. USS Manatee (Argonaut) and Dungeness (Narwhal) added to US SS. Start in Pearl Harbor.
3. I-125, 126, 127 (Japanese ML) added to Fleet and placed at Hiroshima.
4. Only one USS Paulding here so this did not need changing.
5. Japanese Carrier double-naming.
6. Raised Japanese Type 88 Mine Production some to reflect having more boats at war's start.

Pretty simple changes.

How about pairing the ML SS so you have three groups of two?? Any Allied player WHO DOES NOT form a Minesweeping TF first at Manila will pay!! [:D]

Reluctant Admiral 7.8

Post by John 3rd »

Ouch. RA took a bit more time then Treaty to do changes and fixes!

Change List:
1. Deleted 4 SNLF China units that were accidentally left in the OOB when JWE imported all the unit to his newest DaBabes standard. Moved over 4 IJA Garrison units to replace the SNLF units.
2. Placed all of 55th ID with Imperial Guards.
3. Karafuto Bge placed under Northern Area Command.
4. Added Coastal Command arriving at Osaka in June 42.
5. Army Paras moved to Hanoi.
6. Brit 2nd ID TOE fixed.
7. Added a CLAA Omaha upgrade in late-43.
8. Checked and corrected naming issues with wessels.

Think that is all.

Will move to Between the Storms tonight.

4. USS Paulding naming fixed.
5. Japanese Carrier double-naming.
6. Raised Japanese Type 88 Mine Production some to reflect having more boats at war's start.
7. Deleted 4 SNLF China units that were accidentally left in the OOB when JWE imported all the unit to his newest DaBabes standard. Moved over 4 IJA Garrison units to replace the SNLF units.
8. Placed all of 55th ID with Imperial Guards.
9. Karafuto Bge placed under Northern Area Command.
10. Added Coastal Command arriving at Osaka in June 42.
11. Army Paras moved to Hanoi.
12. Brit 2nd ID TOE fixed.
13. Added a CLAA Omaha upgrade in late-43.
14. Checked and corrected naming issues with wessels.
15. Added 6th Ind Brigade to Pacific duty (replacing the 55th ID Regiment).
16. Made sure the LIZ upgrades to the RITA without issue.
17. Added French Bouvier (Surcouf-Class SS) by popular demand!

Which nationality? My guess would be that is in a limited pilot pool like the Dutch/Chinese. Is it?

Some of the minor force pilot pools are pretty limited. I believe the Dutch run out completely in mid-42. The Chinese are very limited too. You have to wait a few months for the pool to fill back up again.

The training pools for the major forces are large enough it is tough to run out of pilots in the entire training system, but you may draw some low EXP pilots as you draw deeper into the system.

RE: All Scenarios Updated!

Post by HansBolter »

I'm experiencing some problems with the air squadrons of the commonwealth CAVs following the ships' first upgrades.

Unlike the American CLVs that have a conversion available from the start, the two commonwealth CAVs don't show an a conversion to full CVL as possible until after the first upgrade.

I performed the first upgrade on these two ships and the air squadrons resized (they were left onboard) as if the ships had converted to full CVLs with a 36 plane capacity (fighter is at 21, bomber at 15).

Every attempt to resize the squadrons to fit the ships has failed. I set both squadrons to "resize to fit ship" and nothing happened for three turns. Both TFs are docked at level 9 air bases.

I tried forcing a set number on them (9 for the fighter and 6 for the bomber) and still no joy.

Last turn I transferred the squadrons to the airbases. If I can't get them to resize, both ships will only be able to operate with their bomber squadrons for the next six months (the conversion becomes available in June '43, game is in Jan '43.

Can someone please take a look at these squadrons and try to figure out why the air units resized to fit a full CVL when I was only upgrading the AA on the CAVs.

Have to look but it sounds to me that I have them re-sizing as if the conversion has occurred at the FIRST Upgrade. Oops. Will look and see. You said that this is for the Commonwealth CAVs--RIGHT?

Yep, it's the commonwealth CAVs only. The American CLVs upgraded with no impact on the squadron sizes.

The American CLVs just went into the yard at Pearl for their conversion two turns ago.

At the end of the next turn their air squadrons upgraded to the correct size for the conversion to CVLs.

Upgrade delays - I didn't see any for the Allied hybrid CAV/CVLs with new files. Also TT tubes should come off with first upgrade (1/43).

You know I didn't notice that. They did perform the upgrades incredibly fast like on the order of 4-5 days.

I was finally able to get the air squadrons to resize by transferring them off the ship and then back on again one at a time.

As they embarked they automatically reset to "Resize to fit ship" and it worked to resize them at the end of the turn.

Hans,
Your leading the way for us other AFB's in terms of finding the glitches. Are you playing a PBEM or AI? I'm asking because of you being in Jan 43 already. Have fun....GP

Unfortunately I play strictly against the AI these days. No internet connection at home and I focus most of my game playing time of the weekends when I engage in marathon sessions getting in 6-8 turns in a day.

Weeknights I am lucky to get in a turn every other day as I am usually too mentally wiped out after work to be able to focus on the game.

I did enjoy playing Uncommon Valor PBEM and even head to head, but just don't have the facilities or the opportunity to play competitively these days.
