Thank you for your patience everyone. This is a public beta update, but we strongly recommend giving it a try if you are experiencing any of the fixed issues. We expect this to become official in the next week or two depending on customer feedback.

Change List:

• Fixed several issues that could cause a crash at the end of a battle, possibly resulting in the loss of the saved game file.
• Fixed a bug that could cause the wrong battle group to be penalized with a 1-2 team loss if the last battle in a turn ended by force morale failure.
• Fixed a bug with weapon value calculations, resulting in slightly different team values.
• Several minor changes to battle group default team selection to adjust the AI’s default choices to be the same or similar given the new team values.

Thanks for clarifying. That issue was not one that was addressed in the update, as you will note from the fix list.  I will double check that it is in the bug database for a possible future fix.

Hi. I think I found a small mistake.
And I want to point this out.
Please take a look at this.



There is a picture of Command M4A3 tanks and that picture is same as M4A3(76) tanks'.
However, Command M4A3 tanks have the 75mm gun.
So I think Command M4A3's picture has to be changed to M4A3(75) tanks'.

I apologize for my bad English.
I hope you understand what I mean.

First off -- be careful and back up any files you plan to change before you modify the game, as it is possible to leave the game in a state where it won't run correctly. If all else fails, you can always re-install though.

The data file you want to modify in this case is named "AlsTeams.txt", and is found in the folder DATA\BASE\ under your install directory.

There is an Excel spreadsheet, known as the 'data workbook', for Wacht am Rhein, that will help you understand the format of the data files. You can get the workbook here: ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/CloseComb ... rkbook.zip

In this case, you go down the lines of data in AlsTeams.txt file to find the line for the "Command M4A3". You then want to change the value in the 11th column (column K if you're looking at the workbook). This value controls which graphic is shown on the battle group screen for each team. The current value is 25, but if you change it to 36 (the same value as the normal M4A3(75) entry), you should see the expected graphic on the battle group screen.

Why don't you let soldiers crouch in trenches same as at windows?
That work will make this game looks better. (In 'Panthers in the Fog' too. )

I'm not getting the help I need from contacting Customer Support to receive a new download link to this game. I purchased the Digital Download for $39.95 when it became available on the Matrix Games site in 2008 when it was first available. Your Customer support email leads me to Blues Snap. I've called both Blue Snap's customer service and as you know, their records don't go back past 2010. I bought the game when Matrix Games was still using 'Digital River' as your purchasing agent, and they claim they have no record of my purchase. I have the email that Matrix Games sent me that verifies the purchase date, the order number, even the game serial number I was given! So all I want is a link to re download the game. Should be a relatively easy thing for Matrix Games to supply me with. But so far I'm getting the complete run around. So I'm posting here for help!
