Quiet turn
Tavoy hold another day.
Another interesting thing is situation in Arafura Sea.
Today i see not two but three enemy Air combat TF. I am having low DL but i lost 3 G3M3 over them so cap must be decent. KB in full alert

Burma
Tavoy hold another day.

Arafura Sea

Interesting.
Today not 3 but 4 Air Combat TFs detected. Over 550 deck planes reported.
I lost 5 search planes today over them. What is interesting one of TF look like build from fleet carriers.
I have no reckon about what is in Darwin. Recon planes refuse to fly from two days.

Japanese bombers almost ready. Still resting after last battle but most of groups in back to decent morale levels and 90% of loses was replaced.
If needed i will be able to send in air 1100 LBA bombers and 850 LBA fighters. KB (if arrive on time) alone will give 500 fighters and 600 bombers. So at best i will have ~3000 planes.

26 Japanese subs is sailing to meet those forces they should arrive in 3-4 days

Perhaps Docup has realized he has to veil his intentions more carefully and this is actually a feint! [:)]

I doubt it though. Of course it's tough to do when you've lost a bunch of CVs. He does have guts.

Will see. Feint is one of passable outcomes.
I will stay in shadows as long as passable. KB will not show up, i keeping bombers in shadows, so in bases he is reckoning nothing is changing no more or less planes. Status quo.

Damn it start to be nervous. I move CA SAG to Ambon last turn and i forget to give them order to retreat north. They are protected by 300 fighters but still i am nervous.

He does have guts.

Yest he have. Docup is fighter.

If this is real invasion, on Docup place i will go with everything.
Mass LBA and CV planes. He easily can have there 5000 planes.
Carriers alone should give him 2500+ planes.

I we both go with everything we can be witness of massive 8000 planes battle[X(]

Talk about decisive battles! Actually, I think Docup should be aiming for much nearer the Home Islands.

I am not sure I would want to watch the combat replay of an 8000 plane struggle...at least as the Allies you could skip and just check out the damage. Combat reporter is your friend.[:)]

We will see if this is faint or not in next turns. I need more intel what he bring there.

Docup have ~2600 carrier planes. I see three ~600. Enough to be tasty for KB? Yes. Enough for me to to be not able to resist attacking. No

If this is faint i believe Docup can land in only one other place - Kurile Islands

8 October 1944

Burma
Tavoy hold another day. Docup troops need to rest for few days or he will not be able to push me out of base. If i hold for 5 more days i will manage to reinforce base with full ID.

Attacking force 3038 troops, 18 guns, 368 vehicles, Assault Value = 1025

Defending force 9468 troops, 143 guns, 79 vehicles, Assault Value = 65

Allied adjusted assault: 29

Japanese adjusted defense: 187

Allied assault odds: 1 to 6 (fort level 5)

Combat modifiers
Defender: terrain(+), forts(+), disruption(-), experience(-)
Attacker: disruption(-)

Japanese ground losses:
377 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 21 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 10 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 9 disabled
Guns lost 8 (3 destroyed, 5 disabled)

Allied ground losses:
24 casualties reported
Squads: 2 destroyed, 2 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 4 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Vehicles lost 5 (1 destroyed, 4 disabled)

Arafura Sea
Today i see not 4 but 5 Air Combat TFs. Confirmed 750 planes.
I am almost sure fleet carriers are there.
Enemy carriers hold position but two TF move north toward Saumlaki. One look like transports second like SAG.

First subs entering Banda Sea. I will have 26 subs in 48h

Tavoy hold another day

Banda Sea
Allied invasion move north. Today they take position South West and South East of Saumlaki. I see less carriers but today i see Battleships and first time Landing Ships. Lot of LCI, APA, AKA reported
Potential target Ambon/Namlea

Interesting thing: You see two pictures first is one made during replay lower picture after turn solution. As You can see Docup move and auto disband ships in Gorong. I am suspecting Surface Combat TF.

I decided that i will fight. Planed strike is 48h from now.
Plan is already in my head. I am sure that i will not look for 8 hex strike.

I have 20 subs in Banda Sea six more will join tomorrow

Is that Gorong or Kaimana?

It is Gorong circled.
Kaimana is that base East of Gorong and south of Babo

I thought you were referring to the anchor symbol at Kaimana.

I was referring that i saw two TF (reported as 10 ships size by search planes) but they where gone when i look at map after replay. Logically that mean i don`t see them because they disband in port. and becouse i dont have DL on base so i dont see anchor symbol but they are there

PS. During combat replay You never see anchor or AF symbol. They are only visible when you doing orders.

He could also have run combat ships in and they retreated after not finding combat. Depends on if your picture is before or after naval movement, but if it's after would they have already disbanded?

Picture is made during day PM phase. So they cant move. If he set Gorong as home base and order to auto disband, TF will always disband at end of day.
