Scenarios Disapear!

Post by dr.hal »

Folks I just went into the game to open a new scenario and low and behold, there were NO scenarios there at all, all the slots were blank! What the heck happened? The only thing I've done out of the ordinary was to go into the editor and look at locations for the monsoon indications (ME) and that's it. Admittedly it's been a while (a month or two) since I've looked at a new scenario but I got one heck of a shock to see NONE there, nada, zip, zero. I've been playing a grand campaign with a player over the last few months and that's all, other than look at the AE editor as indicated above, can anyone help me out on how to restore or "go back" to get the scenarios loaded into their slots????? Thanks. Hal

Did the SCEN folder get deleted or something? If the files are in the right place with the right extensions the game engine should see them.

Thanks Bill, indeed you are correct, I must have inadvertently moved the SCEN folder INTO the saved folder and it couldn't be "seen"! Thanks. Hal

If all computer problems were that easy, I'd be out of a job.

I was thinking more about my "day job". I have all day meetings with my customer today and tomorrow to plan out where they're going with the software. So far they have kept me employed for 4 1/2 years as a contractor fixing their ancient software and writing some new stuff.

They are in the southern part of the state, Rutland or Bennington, not sure. I still have a house up there and a few weeks ago, it went down to -40, pipes froze... ugh. You need MORE than snowshoes.

I'm not a Matrix employee. My "day job" is an Electronic Engineer/Software Engineer in industry. I've been telecommuting to a company in the Bay Area (California) that makes instruments for integrated circuit manufacturers. I'm one of only two programmers they have and I'm architecting the next generation of their software.

AE and any future game development I might do (who knows what the future holds), are labors of love. The industrial world is where the money is for my skill set.

I would suspect that a LOT of those working on wargames are not doing it for the money, but for the love of the art. Keep at it and thanks. Hal
