PBEM working?

Post by Rosseau »

I apologize for having to ask this question, but I have not followed the game since I bought it.

Does traditional file-swapping PBEM work, or are the phases too numerous to make that practical?

Technically, this works if you send the saved games over mail.

However, I wouldn't call that practical for the thing you say. There are quite a lot of phases in which both players need to do things (f.e. air-to-air combat, naval combat and such)...

Do-able if both players can easily check the board at any time (from their copy of the last save) and can be relatively responsive to emails or even better - instant messaging.

Another issue is keeping the US entry chits secret for both US entry and the Nazi-Soviet Pact or other neutrality pacts.

Barbarossa can be played over the mail without hassle, just give some if-then-else orders to prevent the frequent switching
