Some Questions

Post by bigwins »

I have a few questions and hopefully someone will take time to answer.

1] What are the numbers that are located at the bottom of a sea box for: Starting with Box 0:None, Box 1:2*, Box 2:1* etc.

2] How do I change settings?
a. How do I enter a die roll instead of the program doing it.
b. How do I turn off the film clips.

Boy, I would like to know.

Thanks

To answer question (1):

The numbers are the modifiers to notional units.

The notional unit adds the number at the bottom of any given sea box to its combat factors for each unit invading from that box.

So, for example, if an invasion has a unit invading from the 4 box and a unit from the 3 box, the notional adds +0 combat factors.

If instead the units were invading from the 2 box and the 1 box, the notional would add +3 to its combat factors (IIRC).

In any kind of weather other than fine, add 1 extra combat factor if the sea box has an asterisk (*).

So in bad weather, invading units in the 4 and 3 boxes add 1 to the notional's combat factors, and invading units in the 2 and 1 boxes would add 5 combat factors.

Hope that helps there.

For question 2) you need to look in the interface menu of the main panel (see appended picture).

More on question (2):

For 2a) the red box is the item for setting die rolls manually.

For 2b) the brown box shows where you can turn movies & sound effects on and off.

For notional units and for shore bombardment too.

Ah, yes, that's right. The numbers also reduce the shore bombardment factors of naval units in the corresponding boxes.
