Corps Dates

Post by Longshanks »

With all the changes I can't tell when the Soviets can build up the various corps. Can someone kindly supply the dates?

Also, is there an AP cost to build the corps?

Thanks!

Hello, it is written in the manual, search for "merge" or merging units.

By heart, cavalry divisions can be made into corps december 1941. Tank brigades into tank corps april 1942, infantry brigades into divisions, i do not remember, maybe december 1941. Infantry divisions into infantry corps may 1942. If my memory is correct.

The dates in the manual are no longer correct (at least some of them) if playing 1.08.02. The trouble is that there have been several changes, but they're not all in one spot. For example, the cav can't be built into a corps in December or January 42 for that matter.

I suppose I'll find out sooner or later. It'd just be nice to know ahead of time.

OK, I could combine 3 cav into a corps in January 42. I just had to put them all in the same Army first. That's not mentioned in the manual.

It seems to cost 20 admin points to form infantry corps from divisions.

Cav corps can be made in Dec 1941 ( 5 AP )

Tank corps in April 1942 ( 20 AP )

Rifle divisions ( from two or three rifle brigades ) in May 1942 ( no cost )

Rifle corps in May 1942, using three divisions or two divisions and a brigade. Original game rule AP cost was 10, now 20 if forming is before 1943.

The original rules are sections 7.5.3.1 and 12.2.4

Mech corps in Sep 1942 ( 20 AP ), using three motor or mech brigades

The rule for requiring units in the same HQ command when the formation is built is recent, in the 1.08 patch family.
