exact same unit has two different base defense values

Post by Rongor »

Hi there.
In my recent PBEM I as Entente player now am busy in pushing back towards German soil in the west in 1915.

As it can be seen in the next pic, the selected German unit has a base defense value of 22

Now I selected one of my units and check the combat prognosis display. Now the same German unit has a base defense value of 26.

22 to 26 is a remarkable difference and a heavy game changer if I dare to attack this unit, hence the bad prognosis. Any idea where this difference comes from? Are parts of the displayed values unreliable or modified or am I facing a sort of bug or feature I just don't understand?

I think what you are looking at is: In the first SS you have a unit description and in the second SS is "combat prognosis", which includes the little white icons that indicate you are attacking across a river (adds to defense rating) against a unit under the influence of a general (who in this case has defense rating of 4 added to the unit, Likely Hindenburg).
and one flew over the Cuckoos nest
