Pad Image Format

Hello all, I am completly new to this game so please forgive if this question has been asked before,I have tried to find the answer with no luck.

What format does a Pad image have to be please ?

Both the battle cards and the info cards are in .png format. Something like Gimp which is free could be used to edit them.
You can find the battle cards in Panzer Corps/Graphics/units and the info cards in Panzer Corps/UI/bigunits. Those in the units folder are 296x296 in size and those in the bigunits folder are in 256x256 size.
