Italy puts a Nav into the East Med 4-box.

Japan sends a Lnd to the China Sea 0-box.

Italian Trans moves from Benghazi to La Spezia.

Do the Allies wish to initiate combat in the Sea Areas?

Fair enough. I've disorganised the 4-2 movement sub as they both have the same combat value. No additional Japanese air. Does the Nationalist P-36 want to participate?

Searches of Allied 6 and Axis 8 bring proceedings to a swift close.

Berlin Militia rails to Aarhus.

The Japs rail a Garr from Tsingtao to Kirin (Manchuria) and an Inf from Tsinan to Changchun.

The Japs, starting to feel like the nut between the jaws of USSR and China, rearranges the defence as best as it thinks possible.

The Germans move up on Amsterdam. Elsewhere, other units move towards the Russian border.

A Stuka adds ground support to the attack on Amsterdam.

The Allies choose Assault and the current run of form for the Germans continues as they roll an 8 and lose an Inf plus two disorganised.

A couple of Stukas rebase to Copenhagen. The Italians rebase a Ftr to Egypt.

Von Leeb reorgs an Me-109 and that wraps up the impulse.

The weather goes from bad to worse.

Nice photo of GW and binoculars. Bill Clinton did the same thing in the same place. Also, there is a second photo in the same sequence showing GW with the lens caps off...meaning that he realized they were on and took them off. How many of us have done that? That makes me wonder...has Obama been to the Korean DMZ yet?...that's where the Clinton and GW photos were taken. I'm sure since Clinton/Bush are close buddies they probably have privately joked about that one;-)

Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

If someone gives me binoculars to watch something, I expect they are working. But nice photo anyway 😃

Looks like 1940 Barbarossa to me. During last impulse I realized I can't claim Baltic states :)

One questions to be sure: Does USSR and Germany need 2:1 garrison value to break the pact during 1940?

Edit: I bet France survives till 1941... This is not going to be fun for me, but it will be different.

"Smart people learn from other peoples mistakes, stupid people don't learn even from own mistakes." I think I'm normal as I have learned something from this game.

Garrison value required to break a neutrality pact is always 2:1, but in 1940 units' defensive garrison values are doubled.

J/F 1940 Allied 5

No Dow.

I wish I had unused transporters to bring some units to Rotterdam now... Damn Italy forced me to send units to North Africa.

CW naval, US and France combined, China and USSR land.

NAVAL
CW Trans with MIL to Suez Canal and Queen Mary with INF to Suez. Netherlands ships spreads to seas, all CW factories now in use.
France Trans with TERR to Toulon. US subs sails to Pacific.

Naval search in Baltic Sea, Allied roll 9 and Axis 4. No combat in blizzard.

RAIL
Nationalist Chinese rails HQ next to Nanchang. France rails Dakar MIL to Lille. USSR rails INF from central Siberia back to Harbin and MIL to Minsk.

LAND MOVE
Some movement in Central China and Manchuria, bad weather prevents big maneuvers.

REBASE
USSR rebases air forces to south. CW rebases Wellesley to Hull and Whitley to Malta. France rebases fighter to coast and twin-engine fighter to Strasbourg.

J/F 1940 Axis 8

No DoW

Germany Land, Others Combined.

The Italians return the Nav from East Med to the Libyan coast. A Trans moves from Libya back to Egypt.

The Japs move 2 CL to the China Sea 3-box, followed by a Trans which picks up an Inf.

The Japs decline combat in the China Sea but the Soviets also have the chance. Do they wish to take it?

Sharp-eyed Japanese lookouts, peering through the Storms, catch sight of the Soviet subs on the surface. Before the Russians can react, a volley of gunfire is sent across. Search rolls Axis 2. 8 surprise points. First 4 used to reduce Jap losses to nil. The eventual results are less than impressive.

Where do the subs wish to abort to. I presume Vladivostok?
