graphic look and setting

Post by Marshall »

Hello,

I am playing with the beta version, and with the command line:

"D:\Games\Matrix Games\WITPAE\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -deepColor

however, I don't see to much a difference of it, and I noticed a Youtube video with very different Japanese flags used, and other pictures on the fleet screen.
also the army units had different colors.

does anyone know how it is done?

Cheers!

The artwork needs to be changed out for that. There are many bits of new artwork that has been added by people after the release of the game, plus there are some spare, alternate bits of art provided with the game. Go to the game installation, then look in the ART sub-folder. The map icons are determined by a set of icons with names like MapIconsAUS.bmp. The ones that are used have some sort of abbreviation for the nationality and the spares have "spare1", "spare2" tacked on.

There are many other sets of art out there. The stickies at the top of this forum has a thread with links to various mods and various art changes.
