Ongoing pirate concerns.

Post by NephilimNexus »

1) Population Control: Exterminate will drop a population down to 1m victims and then stop... when it works at all.

2) Any leader bonus to reduce cost of Civilian Ships/Bases does nothing.

3) Leader bonus to reduce cost of Military Ships/Bases is questionable.

4) No clear mechanics on how civilian economics are handled, as there is no section showing civilian income (only expenses).

5) Your own bases on worlds that you control (invasion, colonizations, criminal network) continue to increase corruption and hurt your own income, as does having your own ships in orbit of these worlds. In other words, once you "own" a world it actually hurt you to have any "influence" on it.

6) Coups are unrealistic, as a ship captain four sectors away from the leader will replace leaders instantly and without warning, and for absolutely no reason - meaning that weak, flawed captains will often replace highly skilled & competent leaders. At the very least Intelligence Agents should play a part in this somehow.

7) No real moddability for pirates. "Playstyles" are fixed values, unlike Empire governments (which can be easily modded).

8) Racial bonuses for assimilated species are always for the wrong species. For example, conquer a planet full of Atuuk and you'll get the bonus pop-up bonus screen for Ketarov. WTF?

Hi NephilimNexus

My comments inline below:

1) Population Control: Exterminate will drop a population down to 1m victims and then stop... when it works at all.
Fixed in the next update
2) Any leader bonus to reduce cost of Civilian Ships/Bases does nothing.
Fixed in the next update
3) Leader bonus to reduce cost of Military Ships/Bases is questionable.
Generally worked ok, but some bugs fixed in the next update
5) Your own bases on worlds that you control (invasion, colonizations, criminal network) continue to increase corruption and hurt your own income, as does having your own ships in orbit of these worlds. In other words, once you "own" a world it actually hurt you to have any "influence" on it.
This is by design - you're still a pirate after all. So corruption is still in effect.
