CORSICA LIVES!

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

CORSICA LIVES!

Post by marion61 »

I thought this was amusing, so I'm sharing it. The 1/157th Mountain Regiment has been trapped on Corsica for about 3 turns now holding it's mountain fortress. I'm flying every supply plane I have to keep them alive until they are relieved (right...lol). Usually only FJ divisions or regiments are this hard to root out, but as long as they get some supplies the fight will continue. We are planning a rescue operation (haha), so they will hold till then.

They can hold. If your opponent doesn't send any real divisions to that island, those WA Italians will just withdraw after a while and you will have the island back.

Those units in Ajaccio and around it are the Indian Division. The island is lost.

I had difficulty using only one division to take the islands. I ended up using two...and the mobile Italian regiment you get.

Holy bat crap, Batman! Those Battling Basturds of Corsica LIVE! I did put their new port on priority repairs so maybe they got some bullets. Now I have to decide if I can, to pull them out, or just leave them there as a thorn. Decisions, decisions.

I can't! I have his surprise all ready for when he lands. EF Box is on, so he can land anywhere he chooses. Hark! What do I hear? It's those dang Panzer's pulled by reindeer! HO! HO! HO! It's Nov. in game so I was going to give it to him for Christmas.
