Bombur 1930 game
RE: Bombur 1930 game
Copying a log would surely mess up your Xerox(TM) machine! Bark and sap everywhere!

My apologies. I thought this was a perfectly straightforward question. I didn't anticipate the sarcastic remarks that it would generate.
I too have had several occasions where I've received messages about opponents opening files more than once Ironduke, but I've just ignored them
on account that sometimes people make mistakes and have to reload files etc. Obviously you have too and you've responded in the appropriate
way (just ignoring it). Also, I too don't have a clue what a log filter is but thought someone out there might. Again, I thought the obvious
way to find out would be to ask the relevant question on the relevant forum.
Please don't patronize me just because I'm a newbee Ironduke. I do not want to end our battle on account of such a silly technicality. As I
stated in my post I'm sure this is perfectly innocent, I just wish to know what the hell it means....that's all.

Well you seem offended, the reason I have never placed a players name on the Forum in relation to the word cheat is that sometimes people get offended by the association. Can't think why, take offence at my sarcastic tone if you wish, its deserved. If you wish for a explanation then PM Erniescwitz Bombur or Vic or any number of tech savvy people a number that I don't count myself in, will give you a answer. I repeat I have had dozens of possible cheat messages on the forum, I am not concerned with the explanation as I trust the players on the forum and there are all sorts of reasons why cheat messages appear and all of them and I mean all have been honest mistakes or crashes of one kind of another.

He did not accuse you of cheating he asked a simple question, one I asked once when it first happened to me.

RE: Bombur 1930 game
I am not completely sure what this is. I think Vic must know, and I might ask him next time I speak to him.
Usually when it has to do with the log files, its because they have been wiped. Which is usually an indication that the player has played turns on different computers. It might be something similar. It might be that a log file was corrupted and regenerated by the system, or that something has been messed with.
Normally these things are no cause for alarm. I wouldn´t be too worried. If Ironduke had wanted to cheat, and had enough experience with tampering with the log files, then we would likely have heard nothing about this attempt at cheating. So I am inclined to believe this is innocent.

I used to have a problem where mouse clicks would close my stuff. I had lots of results for others where it said I had opened the turn several times.

I am not sure if its relevant I typed a message to another player in game I tried to copy the message so I could paste it in forum, the game would not let me copy the message I had just typed.

RE: Bombur 1930 game
This will be my final word on the matter as I've absolutely now wish to rub anybody up the wrong way, because I think pretty much everyone who plays this game all appear to be sincere guys (and helpful).
I didn't, as has been previously asserted, put anybody's name in my post. I posted the name of the country. In hindsight this was probably not a good idea and I'm sorry. However this is the first time I've ever had this type of message appear during a game and I thought posting it here was the appropriate response. Also it was not a 'technical' matter relating to the
mechanics of the game itself but a problem caused by a participating player, so again I thought this was the best place to report it.
Just to wrap up, I never 'accused' anybody of doing anything. As I said in my post, I'm sure it was perfectly innocent.

RE: Bombur 1930 game
Not a problem, those messages can seem quite intimidating, and hackles rise when you believe that someone may be cheating.
But I and other players have seen those messages so often that we tend to treat them with a huge pinch of salt.
It would be fairly obvious if a player was actually cheating and changing negative results to positive, if that is even possible, replaying turns because they don't go well is another possibility,
but its futile the results are random and playing the same attacks again are just as likely to get you worse not better results,
and of course everyone will get to know exactly how many times the file was opened, I will attempt to contain my indignation in future, but I give no guarantee's.

The British Breakout taking the city of Baranov, attempts to take another city are thwarted by one Soviet T28 who simply will not concede ground.

The British batter through to the Russian Capitol which fortunately was lightly garrisoned. The British can now renew their Western Advance.

I see no answer from two of us. I suggest we start another game same teams.
