I am Chi's opponent, had all my IJN CV's marked as do not resize, well they resized anyway on patch application. Now I gotta cherry pick my land based fighter units for pilots for CV duty. I got a bunch of pilots with 55-60 overall and 70 air skill and mid 60's strafe and even low naval scores in reserve, will put them in the land based units. CV's get the cream of the crop.

Worst is the downsizing of my Torp squadrons. That hurts some.

@2ndACR: once the default resize is done, you can manually resize your CV groups.

This. Just click on the "resize allowed"/"do not resize" a couple times until it shows up.

If you have the new graphics (ships and squadrons) do they survive the update? And does Chemkid have a map with hexes?

Got my return turn back.

Largest "inconvenience" noticed by me and my opponent was that some carrier squadrons resized (both IJN and USN).
Our game had just gone from June 30 to July 1.
Could it have been because that was a resize date anyway?
Maybe for one of us but probably not both IJN and the USN.

If you are referring to '42, then I believe that is the date that US CV fighter squadrons resize from 27 to 36.

Its also when the IJN CV's resize their groups.

I just installed the patch, no problems. However the Beta2 folder is still there, a sub-folder of witpae, same as before the patch install.

Can I now delete the Beta2 folder?

Since official patch is basically same as previous Beta, you can safely delete Beta2 folder.

So, if I'm already running Beta, any real reason to install this?

I haven't bothered yet. I'm not sure if there are any data updates rolled into it, so for a new game that would be a reason (depending on the scenario).

Same version, of course (latest Beta), just not installed that same version as the update package because it will write over the mods. I eventually will...

Well, if you want to play a game that's years out of date, then I guess that's your business. But this new official patch is stable and should be embraced. [:'(]

Less than one year out of date! Oh, wait - what years are you using? Chicken years? I'll have to find a conversion chart... [:'(]

How does one go about "embracing" code?

Well, there are probably a few new items regardless. Plus if you ever play a human you both need to have the same version.

Okay doke. Me and my current opponent (Malagant) both have the last beta patch, so I think I'll sit pat for now :)
